Ways to Give

When you make a donation to FPU, you impact our students, the community and the world. Since each gift and giver is important to us, we offer a variety of ways to make a contribution.

Cash, checks or credit cards

  • The easiest and most common way to give is through gifts of cash, check or credit card.

  • We accept checks from U.S. and international banks as well as American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa.
  • Tax receipts for gifts of cash, check or credit card are issued within 2-3 days of receipt.
  • Donations must be received or postmarked by December 31 in order to be eligible for a charitable deduction on income tax returns for that year.

Phonathons

  • Every fall, alumni are asked over the phone to support the FPU Annual Fund and/or the Biblical Seminary Annual Fund. Payment of those pledges can also be made online.

Matching gifts

  • Gifts to the university can easily be doubled by taking advantage of corporate matching gift programs. Many corporations will match the gifts of current or retired employees as well as their spouses.
  • Simply obtain a matching gift form from your employer; complete your portion of the matching gift form, and then mail your gift and the matching gift form to:

FPU Foundation

  • The FPU Foundation offers planned giving services related to annuities, trusts, wills, estate planning and real estate planning. Through planned giving, both the university and the donor can benefit.

In-kind donations

  • Books, art, artifacts, equipment, supplies and services can all be accepted by the university as gifts-in-kind. Income tax credit may be available to the donor based on IRS guidelines for non-cash gifts. Please call University Advancement at 559-453-2110 or email response@fresno.edu for more information.

Stocks and other securities

  • Giving appreciated assets—such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds or real estate—to the university may provide substantial tax benefits to donors. Call the FPU Foundation at 559-453-2129 or email response@fresno.edu for more information.
